Turnkey IP Telephony Setup for Offices on FreePBX

Turnkey IP Telephony Setup for Offices on FreePBX
Quick overview
I’ll set up IP telephony for an office with 5 to 50 employees: a PBX on FreePBX/Asterisk, SIP trunk connections, voice menu, and call recording. Work is done remotely, takes 2-3 days, starting at 12,000 ₽.

When an office has five phones and everyone decides for themselves who picks up, calls get lost and clients get annoyed. IP telephony for the office on FreePBX fixes this with one system: a single PBX, call queues, call recording, and a clear routing scheme. Fits offices with 5 to 50 employees, if you need proper call tracking instead of a pile of forwards to mobile numbers.

What’s included

I deploy a PBX on FreePBX/Asterisk, connect your carrier’s SIP trunks, configure IVR (a voice menu that answers the caller and routes the call to the right department), call queues, employee groups, and call recording. I also configure the phones themselves, physical handsets or softphones (a phone app on a computer or smartphone).

  1. Gathering requirements. I clarify the number of employees, which numbers are needed, and what call scenarios apply: who transfers calls where, which departments exist, whether recording is needed. Skip this step and the IVR gets configured by guesswork instead of your actual workflow.
  2. PBX installation. I deploy FreePBX/Asterisk on a server or virtual machine. This is the core of the whole system: calls flow in here and get distributed across the office from here.
  3. Connecting SIP trunks. I link the PBX to the carrier that handles external calls. I verify that outgoing and incoming calls work without drops.
  4. Setting up IVR, queues, recording. I build the voice menu, call pickup groups, queues for high-load departments, and enable call recording for quality control.
  5. Configuring devices and training. I set up phones and softphones at workstations and show employees how to transfer calls, put them on hold, and listen to recordings.

What equipment you’ll need

You need a server or virtual machine for the PBX. I’ll pick one that fits the task if you don’t have your own hardware. Beyond that: IP phones or softphones at workstations, and SIP numbers from the carrier you have a contract with.

What gets deployed

At the end you get a working FreePBX/Asterisk setup, configured SIP trunks, a voice menu, call queues, call recording, and call reports. I separately check that NAT works correctly on MikroTik (specifically SIP ALG): without this, audio can drop or calls can cut off mid-sentence.

What you’ll get as a result

A working PBX that answers and distributes calls by your rules. A call routing scheme: who ends up where and why. Instructions for employees, so they don’t call me every time with “how do I transfer a call.”

Pricing

The base price depends on the number of extensions and the complexity of call scenarios. CRM integration and adding more users are quoted separately.

Work Price
IP telephony on FreePBX/Asterisk: base package (2-3 days) from 12,000 ₽
CRM integration from 8,000 ₽
Each additional 10 extensions from 3,000 ₽

Not included in the price: Phones, carrier services.

After delivery: 14 days of free fixes for any issues. After that: one-off work at 2,000 ₽/hour or support starting at 4,000 ₽/month.

What I need from you

  • Contract with a SIP carrier (numbers and trunk access)
  • List of employees with their extension numbers
  • Call scenarios: who answers, where to transfer, whether recording is needed
  • Access to the server or VM, if you already have one
Important
The base price does not include phones or the SIP carrier’s services. These are separate expenses, paid directly to the phone vendor and the carrier.

Frequently asked questions

Is turnkey Asterisk setup done remotely?

Yes, all work is done remotely. No site visit is required.

How long does FreePBX office setup take?

2-3 days from the moment all requirements are gathered and there’s access to the hardware and carrier credentials.

What if we don’t have a server for the PBX?

I’ll pick a server or virtual machine for the task. This hardware isn’t included in the base price of the service.

What happens after the system is delivered?

I fix any issues that come up for 14 days, free of charge. After that: one-off work at an hourly rate, or subscription support if you want someone keeping an eye on the system on an ongoing basis.

Can CRM be connected to the telephony system?

Yes, CRM integration is a separate service, on top of the base PBX setup.

What if we grow past 50 employees?

The system scales. Adding extensions beyond the base number is quoted separately as your office grows.
