Server backup setup isn’t a checkbox item. It’s the one thing that saves your business when a server dies on a Friday evening. Most companies find out their backups don’t work at the worst possible moment, when the data is already gone. If you have a server running 1C, a database, or a file share, and no proven restore scheme, this service is for you.
What’s included
I deploy Proxmox Backup Server or Veeam Backup & Replication, depending on your infrastructure. I set up a backup schedule and store data using the 3-2-1 scheme (three copies, two different media types, one copy offsite). I also build a separate offsite copy, a copy of your data outside the office, in case of fire, theft, or any other physical incident. And I always verify that you can actually restore from the backup, not just that a file gets created with a green checkmark next to it.

- Audit. I check what needs to be backed up, how much data you have, and your requirements for restore speed. Skip this step and you’ll easily end up backing up something irrelevant while missing what actually matters.
- Deploy PBS or Veeam. I pick the system that fits your infrastructure and install it on a prepared server or NAS.
- Schedule and 3-2-1 scheme. I set up how often backups run and how copies are spread across different media, so one failure doesn’t take out all your data at once.
- Offsite copy. I set up an offsite copy in the cloud or on external storage, so your data survives even if something physically happens to the office.
- Test restore and guide. I restore data from the backup, verify everything reads and works correctly, and hand you a guide on what to do if something fails.
What hardware you’ll need
You need a separate server or NAS dedicated to backups, it stores the copy of your data and shouldn’t be the same server you’re backing up. Plus external storage or a cloud service for the offsite copy. I’ll pick the exact configuration based on your data volume and restore speed requirements.
What we deploy
Proxmox Backup Server or Veeam Backup & Replication, depending on what’s already in your infrastructure. I configure deduplication (so identical data isn’t stored twice and you don’t waste disk space), encryption of backup copies, retention/rotation of old versions, and success reports for every backup job.
What you’ll get as a result
Regular backups that are actually verified to restore, not just sitting there existing. A test restore protocol: a document confirming your data reads correctly and comes back up. And a “what to do if something fails” guide, so in a critical moment you’re not scrambling to figure out who to call or what to click.
Pricing
Base setup cost starts at $150, 2-3 days, fully remote. Storage and Veeam licenses aren’t included in the price if you go with that option.
| Work | Price |
|---|---|
| Server backup setup: base package (2-3 days) | from $150 |
| 1C and database backup | from $10 per database |
| Monthly restore verification | from $30/month |
Not included in the price: Storage and Veeam licenses.
After delivery: 14 days of free fixes for any issues. After that: one-off work at $20/hour or support plans starting at $40/month.
What I need from you
- A server or NAS dedicated to backups
- Access to the systems that need backup protection
- A decision on which storage to use for the offsite copy (cloud or external drive)
- Contact info for the person responsible during the audit and setup
Frequently asked questions
Can everything be done remotely?
Yes, all work is done remotely.
How long does setup take?
2-3 days from the audit to the test restore and handover of the guide.
What if we don’t have a server or NAS for backups?
A server or NAS for backups needs to be ready before work starts, that’s one of the prerequisites. I’ll help pick a configuration for your needs, but the purchase is on your side.
What if we need to back up 1C or databases?
That can be set up separately, as an add-on to the base setup.
What happens after the work is delivered?
I fix any issues free of charge for 14 days. After that, it’s one-off fixes or ongoing support, billed separately.
Do we need to check that backups work ourselves afterward?
I do a one-time check during setup. If you want someone to verify restores every month on an ongoing basis, that’s a separate service, otherwise backups risk becoming a nice-looking icon that nobody touches until it’s too late.
